Stepping Into 2026 with Intention — Setting Goals That Actually Stick

Stepping Into 2026 with Intention — Setting Goals That Actually Stick

A new year is almost here, and with it comes fresh motivation, new goals, and a lot of pressure to “start over.”But instead of chasing perfection or creating another long list of resolutions, what if this year you chose to walk into 2026 with intention — grounded in grace and guided by God?

🌿 1. Trade Resolutions for Reflection

Before you decide what to do next year, take time to look back.Reflect on where God showed up in your 2025 — even in ways you didn’t expect.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” — Isaiah 43:18–19

Reflection helps you recognize growth and release what no longer serves you so you can step forward freely.

💛 2. Ask God to Guide Your Goals

It’s easy to set goals from a place of pressure — what we think we should do or what others expect. But lasting goals come from alignment, not anxiety.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

Before writing your goals, pray over them. Ask:

  • Does this goal align with who God’s calling me to be?

  • Will it bring me closer to peace, purpose, or people?

When God’s in your goals, your growth has meaning beyond achievement.

🧠 3. Focus on Habits, Not Hustle

Big goals are built on small, steady habits. You don’t need to overhaul your life overnight — just start with one area: movement, mindset, nutrition, prayer, or rest.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” — Zechariah 4:10

Those small steps, repeated daily, will create momentum that carries you through the year.

🕯️ 4. Stay Rooted in Purpose

When motivation fades (and it will), return to your why — and the Who who gave it to you.Your purpose is not a task list; it’s the way you live out your faith in the everyday moments.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

Your strength isn’t found in your willpower — it’s found in your willingness to keep showing up, trusting that God multiplies your effort.

5. Walk by Faith into 2026

You don’t need all the answers before you start.Sometimes, the most powerful act of faith is simply to take the next step.

“We walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

Walk into the new year not with pressure, but with peace — knowing that whatever’s ahead, you won’t walk it alone.

💬 Final Thoughts

This year, don’t just set goals — set your heart.Invite God into your plans, your progress, and your process.Let 2026 be the year you build with grace, grow with intention, and trust that He’s working all things together for good.
